Sherman Doleman was a German Male that lived at 3050 W Street. He was a blacksmith, following the footsteps of his father. I don't believe that he had a wife. He only went through kindergarten to foruth grade."The worst
depression, was in the late seventies. Far worse than the present. We lived on sorgum and corn-meal. Clothes sent from the east and we went barefooted most of the time." He might have lived a bad life during the great depression but afterwords I think that he lived a happy life.

George Dodge’s wife died but, he said he would not have hired women around the house. Dodge says “No, I won't have any hired woman fussing around, the houses trying to take Martha's place.” Dodge however believes a dog is essential. I feel that Dodge should have hired a woman around the house, especially when he could easily afford it. Dodge is a mason and carpenter by trade. Dodge said some of the hardest times he had ever seen were during the great depression. No money was circulating and no business was being done. Dodge talked about how there was a lot of respect for the Sabbath in his days. He said that later, the church he attended only had meetings once a month. Dodge said “I'm glad I lived my life in calmer days - weren't easy days, but they were a lot happier to my mind."
